Assan Alüminyum sustains its leadership in twin roll casting technology by establishing continuous development and innovation in R & D philosophy. Deliverables of R & D department are created by experienced, well educated and qualified people in aluminum production technology and presented to needs of Customer-Sales-Production circle. All efforts of our company, that has capability of casting the widest strip at the thinnest gauge in the world, is based on satisfying the requirements of our customers with the support of "tailor designed" processes developed by R & D department.
With the intensive support of R & D department, some alloys that are thought as "impossible" to cast with twin roll casting technology, are successfully produced. Those are technological alloys having very wide solidification range such as 5754-6016 and 6082. Long term technical collaborations established with major auto producers has elevated Assan Alüminyum to the level of reliable supplier list of these companies.
R&D department is furnished with state of the art equipment in mechanical, chemistry and metallography laboratories. Laboratory scale rolling mill and annealing furnaces allow very high flexibility in prototype productions based on special customer needs, prior to the industrial scale production. This allows us to shorten time-to-market period of critical products. Performance of well designed and approved processes are continuously monitored and necessary modifications are implemented for achieving perfection.
Not only the knowledge of casting thinnest and widest strip but also the development of unique processes for them to comply with the performance expectation of international stardards are the gained “know-how” of Assan Alüminyum. Along with customer oriented process and product development goal of R & D department, required technical support in all related fields of use of aluminum is also provided. R & D staff participate in collaborative studies with the leading companies of different sectors, suppliers and universities for the purpose of mutual development of the parties. Moreover, important developments and experiences in flat rolled aluminum production are presented in national and international congresses and symposiums.
